December Spotlight
a Hip Chick DJ
The Colorado mobile disc jockey company, “a Hip Chick DJ” is creating a sound, style, and stir reaching all the way to New York City and all around the world! Tricia, a Hip Chick DJ, does gigs for Denver and the surrounding suburbs.

a Hip Chick DJ receives emails from fans all over the world. Recently, her website at www.hipchickDJ.com caught the eye of David Lo, the editor of the DJ Times Magazine, the international magazine for disc jockeys published in New York. He contacted Tricia, interviewed her, selected her as the mobile DJ of the month, and featured an exclusive story of her in the magazine for December, 2002.The December issues of the DJ Times flew off the shelves the first day they arrived in some stores, while the previous issues for November are still on the shelves!

Tricia says she got interested in being a disc jockey when as a wedding photographer she noticed that "the DJ's looked like they were having a lot more fun" So later when she was considering hiring a band for her husband's birthday he suggested she take the money and invest professional disc jockey equipment instead. "Things just took off from there!".

With her love of music and dance, being a DJ fits her personality and talents perfectly.
She is very personable and interacts with the guests, teaching them dance and getting them out there on the dance floor having fun!

She especially loves theme parties. For Sock Hops, she wears a poodle skirt and saddle shoes and uses a black & white checkered back-drop. For Disco parties, she wears a Farrah Faucett bouffant with either a Silver tux with platform boots, or bell bottoms; and uses a glitzy silver backdrop! For a Country gig, she wears a country costume and uses a country back-drop. She lets the Client choose whether she is to wear a costume or a tux.

She excels at huge events with her very powerful top of the line professional equipment, her take-charge ability, and magnetic personality.

At one of the many memorable Hip Chick events, at the end of the event the hotel started removing the dance floor and the guests had so much fun that they didn't want to stop so they kept giving a Hip Chick more money and they danced on the carpet. The hotel had to turn out the lights to get them to leave! One of the party-ers yelled out to
a Hip Chick DJ:

“You’re the best DJ ever!”
